La Casa San Agustin is arguably the best hotel in Cartagena. Recently renovated, this luxurious boutique hotel comprises three charming houses, into which new design elements have been skilfully introduced while preserving original features, notably the library's frescoes and exposed beams. At its centre stands a lovely courtyard with a remarkable old aqueduct, surrounded by palm trees and potted plants that lend serenity to the setting. The hotel has preserved an authentic Colombian character while harmoniously incorporating contemporary elements. Large windows and airy balconies let daylight fill every space while inviting the surrounding greenery in. Some rooms feature a small private pool or a Jacuzzi, and all offer traditional colonial-style furniture and luxurious bed linen.
