Damaraland
An impression of the end of the world in a lunar landscape — that is what the lodge’s architecture conveys, with a main area that is bright and open, allowing air to circulate and creating a wide, panoramic view.
Meals are served table d’hôte style in the open-air dining room, with superb landscapes in view throughout.
A swimming pool offers a way to cool off in summer, while the campfire will warm you on cooler evenings.
The camp has 10 rooms offering all the comfort you need.
Enjoy a boma evening by the fire, with traditional cuisine, singing and dancing, under countless stars.
Ten raised, thatched-roof suites celebrate the sweep of the landscape with sweeping views over the extraordinary plains.
The rooms are built on stilts with a small sheltered terrace. Among the 10 rooms, one family tent offers a fine setting for families, with 2 separate tents and a shared bathroom.
4x4 safaris allow you to search for desert elephants, and the lodge also organises guided walks, mountain bike rides, and excursions to the Twyfelfontein rock engravings.
Black rhino, gemsbok, kudu, springbok, Hartmann’s mountain zebra, and southern giraffes have made their home alongside the region’s famous elephants. A fascinating flora is also found here, along with more than 2,000 bird species.
Damaraland Camp is the result of a successful partnership between the Torra Conservancy and Wilderness Safaris, enabling the preservation of flora and, above all, the development of wildlife, as the number of animals living in this region has doubled.
