An upscale estancia occupying a colonial-style manor house and its outbuildings, dating from 1880, at the heart of a lush 300-hectare ranch. It lies 10 km from the Puente Viejo bridge, Criollo Park and the Ricardo Güiraldes gauchesco museum. Estancia El Ombu de Areco is a genuine family-run estancia where guests are welcomed by the “dueño”. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, decorated with period pieces, which adds to the charm of this magnificent property.

Layout

Meals are served in the garden or in the restaurant, with its exposed stone walls and large fireplace. The property also has an outdoor swimming pool and a lounge fitted with satellite TV.

The 9 rustic-chic rooms feature period-style furniture and parquet flooring. Each has an en-suite bathroom.

Activities offered

On-site activities include billiards, table tennis, cycling, and horses are available, along with long or short hikes. In summer, you can also swim in the pools or simply relax on a terrace overlooking the fields. After lunch, enjoy folk music, traditional dances, “doma India” and/or “tropilla”. Birdwatchers are given binoculars and guides to local birds. You can also observe rural activities such as cattle milking.
