This excursion takes you through the fishing villages of Snæfellsnes (“the Snæfell peninsula”), where you'll see many facets of Icelandic tradition still alive today. In Bjarnarhöfn, you can visit the small Shark Museum, which tells the story of shark fishing on the island, with a tasting of fermented shark thrown in. Finish with a stop at Ölkelda, literally “divine beer spring” in Old Norse, where the water sources are said to have therapeutic properties, and where the views from the southern shores of the peninsula are well worth seeing.
