Snowmobile adventure
Snowmobiling in Muotka is unforgettable. There's plenty of untouched snow, numerous trails and striking landscapes. On this outing, you'll spend most of your time exploring the mountains on your snowmobile. Several breaks are planned during the day for lunch and a hot drink. Is there a better way to spend a winter's day?
Day at a reindeer farm by snowmobile
You'll visit a reindeer farm where you'll meet the herders and learn about the importance of this emblematic animal in Lapland. You'll also learn how to catch a reindeer with a lasso and take a short ride on a reindeer-drawn sled. Soup will be served during the day.
Husky safari
A must while visiting Lapland! The dogs' excitement is contagious, and once the animals fall silent on the trail, you'll realise this is the best way to see Lapland. All husky safaris include full instruction and are based on two people sharing a sled, unless stated otherwise.
Snowshoeing excursion
On this activity, you'll head into the forests and hills surrounding your hotel. The forest is strikingly beautiful in winter, and the silence is like nowhere else. Along the way, your guide will share stories and insights about Finnish nature and wildlife. This excursion is ideal for photographers and nature lovers, as snowshoeing is a genuinely low-impact way to explore!
Cross-country skiing
Try this traditional Finnish winter sport amid the striking landscape around you! You'll get to know the skis, learn how to handle them and pick up some useful techniques. This introductory session is about learning something new, and once you get the hang of it, it will be one of the most enjoyable sports you've ever tried. There's no need to fear falling, as the soft snow makes for a safe landing. There are plenty of ready-made, lit trails near your hotel, so you'll be able to head out on your own after this introductory excursion.
Northern lights camp
This activity takes you to the striking surroundings of Lake Inari. You'll be comfortably seated in a sled towed behind your guide's snowmobile, able to take in the arctic sky all the way to camp. At the camp, you'll find a cabin with a campfire to keep you warm during a cold night of aurora hunting. Your guide will also serve hot drinks. The camp has minimal light pollution, making it an ideal spot to watch for the northern lights, which — hopefully — will appear in the sky.
Northern lights safari by snowmobile
On this snowmobile excursion, you'll head into the area around your hotel in search of the northern lights, making for open spots where the chances of seeing them are highest. The distance covered depends on weather conditions; if the sky looks promising, you'll stop to take in the display.
