La vieille maison rouge et austère se trouve près du port de Stykkishólmur, une petite ville de pêcheurs située près du magnifique Breiðafjörður et de ses nombreuses îles.  La maison a été construite en 1867 par un homme d'affaires important en tant que résidence privée, mais elle a été rénovée et ouverte en 2012 en tant qu'hôtel de charme à gestion familiale.
