The vast spaces of Hotel Huacalera were designed by local artists. They evoke ancestral traditions and reflect a sense of responsible design rooted in its origins, preserving the fine materials with which the hotel was built in the 1940s and expressing, in every detail, respect for this age-old culture.
The Monterrey restaurant serves typical Andean dishes and chef's specialities that combine flavours and textures, carefully selecting organic produce grown in the vast Quebrada de Humahuaca.

From the neighbouring Atacama Desert to the Salta region, the Andean region (Altiplano), and the tropical Misiones region (around the Iguazú Falls) in the northeast, the period from April to October — cooler and drier than the summer months — is the most favourable. It is very hot and rainy from December to March in Iguazú and Salta. Certain areas, particularly in the northwest around Cafayate or Tucumán province, see temperatures reach 45°C. It snows in the Andes between July and August.
