À vivre

The banks of the Chobe River are lush, and the area is renowned for its abundance of elephants — certainly the highest concentration of these magnificent creatures anywhere in the world. Chobe is also known for its immense buffalo herds, its rich birdlife and its exquisite sunsets reflected in the ripples of the river. All of this adds up to a wildlife experience not to be missed.

Seasons

Our seasonal advice

The huge concentration of elephants around the Chobe River occurs during the winter months, from May to September-October.
Conversely, it is during the humid African summer months that migratory birds gather here and antelopes give birth.
Herbivore migrations begin in November and December in one direction, and return from February to April.
