From your terrace at daybreak, you can watch hot-air balloons rising into the sky over the nearby Masai Mara. Located in the northern Serengeti on the Kenyan border, Lamai Serengeti Camp offers magnificent views over the Kogatende plains.
Just a few kilometres from the Mara River, the location is ideal for experiencing the Great Migration between July and October.
This small camp consists of 8 spacious, light-filled tents set among the rocks.

Layout

Lamai Serengeti stands proudly amid a cluster of giant rock formations known as kopjes.
From July to October, more than a million wildebeest cross these plains to escape the jaws of death in the Mara River, just below the camp.
The area is also popular with many mammals year-round.

The 8 tents are perfectly positioned to take in the view, the sun and the breeze.
Each has an en-suite bathroom and a private veranda.

Bar, swimming pool, private or shared terraces.

Meals are taken together or privately on request, outdoors or under cover depending on the weather.
Breakfast or picnic lunches, as well as bush sundowners, are also available.

A beautiful shared pool offers sweeping views over the endless Serengeti plains.

For your children

Lamai welcomes children from age 8.
The camp offers 3 rooms with secure annexes for children.
A private guide can be booked at an additional cost.
Guided walks are only available from age 12.

Rooms

The 8 rooms are very comfortable and spacious, each with an en-suite bathroom featuring powerful showers, a double basin and flush toilets.
Water is provided on request.

Activities offered

Lamai is one of the very few camps in the Serengeti authorized to offer walking safaris. It's a superb way to explore this rugged region, setting out on foot from camp in the morning light.
Other activities are of course available: 4x4 safari, bush picnics and sundowners in the savannah.
It is also a prime spot to watch the Mara River crossing, which the Great Migration undertakes from July to October.
