À vivre

Lizard Island is a relaxed luxury resort offering complete seclusion amid azure waters at the heart of a protected natural sanctuary. The island was named in 1770 by Captain James Cook: across its 24 beaches, the only tracks to be found are those of seabirds or the few monitor lizards that gave the island its name.
Lizard Island holds more than 1,000 hectares of national park and abundant marine wildlife. Secluded and strikingly wild, Lizard Island is fringed by some of the most spectacular waters and beaches of the Great Barrier Reef islands. The island counts no fewer than 24 pristine beaches of powdery white sand.
Lizard Island is accessible only by private plane from Cairns airport.
