À vivre

The small town of Malindi, inhabited by the Swahili since the 14th century, stretches along a stretch of idyllic tropical beaches. In 1499, the Portuguese established a trading post here, which became a strategic stopover on the route to India before they officially took possession of the town twenty-one years later.
Further south, the peaceful village of Watamu charms visitors with its vast, immaculate white-sand beaches. Here, a protected marine national park invites a day excursion, perfect for snorkelling or scuba diving enthusiasts.
Nearby, the spectacular Marafa Depression reveals a striking landscape: a tangle of sandstone gorges and steep ravines that seem to belong to another world entirely.
Further on, the dense jungles of the Arabuko Sokoke Forest Reserve conceal a true natural treasure. In the shaded coolness of this primary forest, winding trails lead you to rare birds and endemic mammals, sometimes bringing you close to herds of majestic elephants.
But Arabuko Sokoke also holds a historical secret: the mysterious lost city of Gedi. This former Swahili trading town, now abandoned and overrun by vegetation, offers a fascinating journey back in time, among mysterious ruins and crumbling walls that tell of a rich and enigmatic past.
On this northern coast, between immaculate beaches, mangroves to explore by boat, coral reefs to discover while diving, and the challenge of big game fishing, the possibilities are many. A generous, unspoilt stretch of coastline awaits, ready for total immersion and rest.
