Layout
Nine Skies houses five luxurious rooms furnished with period pieces and custom-designed fittings, opening onto the tea-lined garden and surrounding estate.
You can enjoy your meals in the ambient restaurant overlooking the landscaped garden. The butlers are on hand to attend to you, mixing your favourite drinks to be sipped in the lounge, or serving afternoon tea and freshly prepared gourmet meals at tables inside the bungalow or on the garden veranda.
You can cool off at any time in the pool.
Rooms
The rooms offer views of the inner garden and, beyond it, the tea fields and green mountains to the southeast. They are furnished with a king-size bed, a comfortable sitting area, a private veranda and a private bathroom with bathtub. Carefully selected antique furniture and custom-made pieces combine eclectic style with comfort.
Activities offered
The hill country in the south-east surrounding Ella is an excellent destination for exploring the great outdoors. There are superb walks around Ella, and the tea plantations surrounding the lodge can be explored at your own pace or with a butler guide. You can learn more about tea production on a guided tour of a fascinating tea factory.
Experiences around Ella range from exploring the Main Line railway section - the Nine Arch Bridge viaduct and the Demodera Loop - to a full-day excursion to the colonial towns of Haputale and Bandarawela. In Ella's lush surroundings, you'll visit Sri Lanka's longest covered wooden bridge, swim in pristine waterfalls and picnic at private spots carefully chosen for their breathtaking scenery.
