À vivre

Oregon is a large state. It stretches 640 km wide and over 580 km long.
You could fit a whole set of smaller states inside it.
To make getting around easier, Oregon has been divided into seven regions. You may want to visit a few of them, or even all of them. In fact, we recommend it. But we've also found that this division makes it easier to discover what makes each part of the state special.
You'll find:
- Central Oregon
A high-desert playground for everything under the sun — skiing, hiking, climbing, biking, fishing, rafting, golf — and in the shade too.
- Eastern Oregon
Vast landscapes where history and adventure collide — along canyons, winding rivers, wild alpine country and lonely ghost towns.
- Mt. Hood and the Columbia River Gorge
A remarkable outdoor region home to an enormous river gorge, sweeping views, cascading waterfalls and the state's highest peak.
- The Coast
585 km of breathtaking coastline — the stuff dreams are made of — dotted with lighthouses, fishing villages and dramatic scenery.
- Portland and its region
A lively urban hub known for its culture and communities, surrounded by forests and farms, rivers and rolling hills.
- Southern Oregon
An arts and culture ethic thriving in a region known for wild rivers, deep caves and the striking Crater Lake.
- Willamette Valley
Forested urban landscapes cradled by vineyards, forests and farms, inspiring artisans, adventurers and everyone in between.

If you're after crowds, Oregon's south coast isn't for you. But if outdoor adventures, secluded beaches, arts communities and fresh coastal cuisine appeal to you, Oregon's south coast is your next destination.
