Due to its remote location and difficult access, Katavi National Park receives fewer than a thousand visitors a year, making it the most untouched land in Tanzania. During the dry season, the Katavi, Katuma and Chada rivers run dry, leaving behind pools around which gather large herds of elephants, buffalo, zebras and hippopotamuses — in turn drawing lions, leopards, hyenas and crocodiles. It is the ideal place to witness the struggle for survival among the animal kingdom's most iconic species.
