À vivre

Peru is known for its traditional weaving, which you can discover in the Sacred Valley. At Awana Kancha, the Andean camelid farm harvests llama and alpaca wool to make traditional garments. Learn how the wool is harvested, dyed using different pigments, and spun.
Using traditional methods, weavers craft intricate, symbolic “mantas”, artistic textiles made of Inca symbols and imagery that tell their history. As you get to know their community, these men and women will share their history, daily life and craft with you.
