Pemba
In addition to its roughly twenty rooms and its underwater room, Manta Resort also has a superb restaurant and a spa.
The Manta Resort offers around twenty elegant and comfortable rooms spread across 3 categories.
The “Sea Front Villas” are recently built villas right on the waterfront. Equipped with a king-size bed, a spacious bathroom and air conditioning, they feature a private terrace overlooking the ocean and its sunsets, which give them their particular charm.
The “Superior Garden Rooms” are set among the foliage and gardens surrounding the resort, yet still face the sea. They come with a king-size bed, a private terrace with a thatched roof and air conditioning. Two of them are interconnecting, making them suitable for a family or group of friends.
The “Garden Rooms”, located at the heart of the gardens, have a king-size bed, an open-air bathroom and a veranda, but are not air-conditioned.
Finally, the “Underwater Room”, offered to the more adventurous, is an experience in its own right, rarely found elsewhere: picture yourself in an underwater room 4 metres below the surface, surrounded by turquoise waters where fish drift lazily by. Located in the “blue hole”, an anomaly in the coral reef visible from the shore some 250 m away, the room looks out onto a water hole reaching 12 metres in depth and 50 metres in diameter. At night, underwater spotlights attract curious onlookers. Above the waterline (so above the room itself), the structure has two levels: the first, at water level, houses the bathroom and living area, while the second consists mainly of the roof, where a second mattress is set up. It is on this upper deck that dinner can be served under the stars before you head down to your room.
The Kipepeo Spa is located close to the main communal areas and overlooks the Indian Ocean.
At The Manta Resort, the range of activities is extensive: explore the seabed on a diving session, venture into the island’s rainforests in search of the “flying fox”, or visit a local village. You can also enjoy beautiful sunset cruises, cocktail in hand. Special programs are even available for honeymooners.
Life on Pemba revolves around the tides, and as the day progresses, you’ll witness the constantly shifting colors and shades of blue and green brought about by the ebb and flow of the water.
Pemba is the ideal diving spot to discover the underwater wonders of the Indian Ocean, with several different dive sites around the hotel!
