The spirit of the journey

Close your eyes and picture yourself in one of the wildest places in Africa.
Suddenly, you hear a lion roar. Later, at the end of the day, you spot a leopard perched in a sausage tree.
No, you are not dreaming — you are right at the heart of South Luangwa National Park.
But your safari does not end there. Enter the world of giants roaming among the baobabs of Lower Zambezi.
Between the escarpment and the Zambezi River, the landscapes here are, once again, striking.

You will stay at lodges set at the heart of this well-preserved nature — lodges where the quality of service matches the outstanding setting.

Parc national de South Luangwa

South Luangwa National Park, spanning 9,000 km², is the birthplace of the walking safari.
It is a patchwork of distinct ecosystems, with the park's southern, central and northern sections all markedly different from one another.
Amid forests, mopane woodland, lush vegetation and giant trees along the river, the concentration of wildlife here is among the highest in Africa, sustained by the Luangwa River and its tributaries, true sources of life.

Renowned for its leopards, hippopotamuses, elephant herds and the largest concentration of Nile crocodiles in the world, you will also come across other species such as buffalo, Thornicroft's giraffe and Crawshay's zebra. But it is ultimately your encounter with the lion that will leave the deepest impression.

In the “Grand Charme” version, we offer a 4-night stay at Kakuli Camp, which boasts an incredible view over the Luangwa River.

Time and Tide Kakuli Camp,

Time and Tide Kakuli Camp

Perched above the Luangwa River, in the northern part of South Luangwa National Park, Kakuli Camp offers striking views over the many animals that frequent the river. Designed to showcase the panoramic landscape and provide total immersion in nature, Kakuli delivers a grand experience, set in a bright, airy atmosphere.
Recently redesigned, the five thatched-roof suites offer remarkable comfort while enhancing the local rustic, traditional feel.
From your suite, you can listen to the sounds of hippos, watch bee-eaters perform their aerial acrobatics, and observe majestic elephants and graceful giraffes making their way to the river.
For the more adventurous, Kakuli offers a night under the stars.
Kakuli is part of the Norman Carr lodge collection, named after the founder of conservation efforts in Zambia.

LOWER ZAMBEZI
You will end this remarkable journey through Zambia with a visit to Lower Zambezi National Park, in the south of the country, on the banks of the Zambezi River.
Wildlife enthusiasts will find plenty to discover: elephants, hippos, lions, leopards, hyenas, and African wild dogs — more than 60 mammal species have made this park their home.

The programme includes day and night 4×4 safaris, walking safaris, and canoe or boat trips on the Zambezi. These experiences offer a fascinating exploration of this picturesque park, where the Zambezi River lends a distinctive atmosphere.

In its “Grand Charme” version, we offer a stay at a tented camp where your 4×4 safaris will be conducted with your private guide, for even greater exclusivity.
