Vancouver Island is an entirely wild territory offering your children a 100% nature-focused family holiday.
On the itinerary: zodiac outings at sea to spot bears and whales, along with a visit to authentic totem poles and an Indigenous village. In Pacific Rim National Park, we recommend trying your hand at hiking.

VANCOUVER
The main metropolis of western Canada, Vancouver stands out for its superb setting between Burrard Inlet and the Fraser River delta.

Build your own urban family adventure on foot or by bike, exploring the city’s parks and distinct neighbourhoods.

Make the most of your stay to cross the Capilano Suspension Bridge, an adventure suited to all ages!

VICTORIA
Welcome to Victoria, a city with a distinctly British charm! First Nations, British and Asian traditions proudly echo through Victoria’s remarkable architecture, heritage sites, museums, gardens, galleries, markets and more. Explore both the past and a compelling present in the oldest city in the Pacific Northwest.

A morning at sea will be devoted to spotting orcas and marine wildlife from a zodiac.

You can then use your free time to stroll through Victoria’s

Butchart Gardens, among the most beautiful gardens in the world.

PACIFIC RIM NATIONAL PARK
You will then head to the island’s west coast, as far as Tofino.
Along the way, you will cross old-growth rainforest and remarkable provincial parks, entering a protected wilderness.
A morning will be devoted to a zodiac outing at sea to spot bears.
During your free time, you can explore the rugged coastline on marked walking trails, or simply wander the superb beaches of Long Beach. The more adventurous can even try their hand at surfing!

Croisière d'observation des ours sur la Pacific Rim

From Tofino or Ucluelet, head out to sea to approach a fascinating species native to the west coast of Vancouver Island: the black bear. An excursion not to be missed by nature lovers and wildlife photographers!
When spring arrives, bears leave their dens after semi-hibernation to reach their first source of food: the ocean. This is when they become easy to spot along the shoreline at low tide, foraging for crabs among other things.
Board a boat or zodiac and cruise along the shore and its lush vegetation. This is an excellent opportunity to observe the curious black bear in its natural habitat.
During this safari, you may also have the chance to spot seals, sea lions and bald eagles.

QUADRA ISLAND
Cross Vancouver Island to the east coast, where you will head to Quadra Island for a genuine cultural immersion at the heart of First Nations heritage.
You will take a boat outing, in the morning or afternoon, on Desolation Sound to observe the marine life that has settled there.

Other outings at sea are possible to watch whales, or to organise a day of sea kayaking around Quadra Island.

The rest of the time, you can walk as a family along footpaths or take your children to discover an Indigenous village and authentic totem poles.
