Located in southwestern Uganda, Lake Mburo National Park covers 260 km² and makes an ideal stop between Entebbe and Bwindi Forest. Despite its modest size, it offers a wide range of landscapes, from savannah and wooded hills to 13 lakes home to crocodiles and hippopotamuses.
It is the only region in Uganda where Burchell’s zebra, Cape eland and impala can be observed. Buffalo, warthogs, topi and a few leopards are also found here. With more than 350 bird species, it is a haven for birdwatchers.
The park offers 4x4, walking, cycling and horseback safaris, allowing an immersive, close-up approach to the wildlife. More peaceful than other parks, it offers an intimate experience at the heart of Ugandan nature, before continuing on to Bwindi and its famous gorillas.
