Lac Mburo
The thatched-roof main building houses an open-plan lounge, a rustic bar and a restaurant on stilts. An infinity pool stretches along the edge of the rock, giving the impression of floating above an endless landscape, between sky, bush and silence.
The 12 luxury rooms at Mihingo Safari Lodge offer total immersion in nature, each with its own distinct character. Nestled in the forest, perched on a rock or overlooking a waterhole, they are designed for privacy and quiet. From their wide veranda, guests can watch impalas, bushbucks or buffalo undisturbed. Beneath their canvas roofs, these light-filled havens have elegant bathrooms combining granite boulders, solar-heated water and details carved from dead olive wood. At dawn, steaming tea is served in-room, in a hushed silence, facing the awakening bush.
Mihingo Lodge offers horseback safaris in Lake Mburo National Park: an excursion that is both comfortable and thrilling. It will take you along various trails, suited to your level, and is the best way to get considerably closer to wildlife, accompanied by experienced guides.
Rides can last from half an hour to 3 days and 2 nights of bush camping.
Head up to the heights of the Warukiri range for 360° views over the lakes surrounding the park.
You can also go mountain biking, take cultural tours, boat outings and practise yoga.
