Uganda
Entebbe
The lodge has four double rooms with private bathrooms and two family cottages.
The main pavilion includes a dining room, a bar and a lounge with comfortable seating, which can be opened on three sides during the day for a view over the grassy clearing surrounded by forest. The lodge has a raised deck built into the forest near the lounge, with a view over the Mabamba wetlands, perfect for an evening sunset or a quiet spot to sit and read in the shade.
The lodge serves freshly prepared meals with a limited but varied menu covering a range of cuisines and catering to all dietary requirements. You'll find an outdoor fire pit with a view of the sunset over the forest canopy and the wetlands beyond. Through a small patch of forest behind the fire pit, hidden from the main pavilion, lies a pool with a shallow, protected area for children, along with a terrace with chairs and loungers. Hammocks are set up in various spots for resting or reading in the cool of the forest.
Nkima Lodge has four double (or twin) rooms with en-suite bathrooms, and two family cottages (each with two separate bedrooms sharing a bathroom).
The rooms are set within the forest with their own private terrace and are designed to offer a view of the canopy while maximising natural light. Hot water is supplied by solar heaters.
All rooms include a bathroom with shower.
The region is a prime spot for birdwatching, and the local community organizes boat excursions through the marsh to observe the shoebill stork and other birds.
You can also go cycling or, for the more adventurous, canoeing.
