Buhoma Lodge is ideally located just a few minutes' walk from the starting point of mountain gorilla treks in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Its privileged location allows visitors to easily reach the ranger station, avoiding long journeys before the expedition begins.
The 10 cottages at Buhoma Lodge appear to hang from the trees of the forest. Taking advantage of the slope of the hillside against which they are set, the cottages are scattered through the vegetation, linked by wooden staircases and walkways.
Built with local materials, they all feature a private terrace with a magnificent view over the canopy of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
The lobby is raised on a stilted platform. This is where you'll find the spa, bar and dining room overlooking the forest. At its foot, a large lawn where you can enjoy a drink in the evening by the fire, after a long day tracking gorillas. The lodge pays particular attention to the quality and variety of meals freshly prepared from local produce.
Free Wi-Fi and charging facilities are available at the bar. The lodge also offers a free laundry service and hiking boot cleaning!
Each cottage has a private veranda with garden furniture where you can admire the magnificent view over the lush vegetation and canopy of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Each cottage has a large, comfortable bed with a private bathroom. A unique stone rain shower is provided. Some of the cottages have a bathtub to relax in.
Hot water is available all day. Windows are fitted with mosquito nets and electricity is supplied by solar panels. The “Honeymoon” cottage has a separate sitting room with fireplace.
Hot drinks are available on a self-service basis throughout the day but can also be delivered to your cottage on request, for a gentle wake-up and to savour the sounds of the forest early in the morning.
Buhoma Lodge, located at the edge of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, offers immersive activities at the heart of nature. The main attraction is gorilla trekking, offering an unforgettable encounter with these primates. You can also set off on guided hikes, go birdwatching, or visit local Batwa communities.
