The spirit of the journey

Western Australia is renowned for its long sunny days and for the diversity of its landscapes and climates.

Enjoy a boat ride along the Swan River from Perth to Fremantle, or through the vineyards of the Swan Valley.

Far less touristy than the eastern part of the country, Western Australia is well worth a visit: everything here is bigger, more authentic, more intense than elsewhere. It offers exceptional natural attractions: swim with whale sharks at Ningaloo Reef, dive among manta rays, follow wild dolphins, sleep in the desert beneath a star-filled sky…

We offer you a “safari” version of this journey, sleeping under canvas, in close contact with the surrounding nature.

ROTTNEST ISLAND
Rottnest Island is a tropical island classified as a nature reserve off Fremantle, 18 km from the coast. It owes its name to the Dutch captain Willem de Vlamingh, who described the local marsupial — the quokka — as a large rat (“Rottnest” meaning “rat nest” in Dutch). Your day will begin with a ferry crossing (30-40 min) to Rottnest Island. Once there, you will pick up your mountain bikes for a day of exploring the island at your own pace… (only buses and bicycles are allowed on the island). You will discover superb landscapes and may be lucky enough to spot the famous quokka. The island has more than 60 beaches, and its waters are rich in marine life. (Don’t forget your swimsuit.)

Note: refundable deposit of 25 AUD pp for the bike rental, to be paid on site.

Return by ferry in the late afternoon and transfer back to your hotel.

KARIJINI NATIONAL PARK
You will fly to Paraburdoo, the gateway airport located 200 km from Karijini National Park, and stay for 2 nights at the heart of nowhere.
Karijini is Australia’s largest national park and arguably one of its most spectacular. Excellent walking trails, suited to all levels, lead into deep underground gorges and through waterfalls where you can dive into glittering pools.
These spectacular landscapes are home to bats, wallabies, red kangaroos, echidnas, lizards and enormous termite mounds.
Many varieties of flowers bloom in summer after the storms; in winter, the yellow hues of mimosa and cassia dominate, joined by blue hound’s tongue and purple mulla mulla.
The demanding “Miracle Mile” route crosses the finest parts of Karijini National Park, including Dales and Knox Gorges, Fortescue Falls, Circular Pool and the spectacular panorama from Oxers Lookout.
You will explore this park — which still holds many secret corners — in a small group with your English-speaking guide!!!

A tip: don’t forget your swimsuit.

NINGALOO REEF
Transfer to Paraburdoo airport and flight to Exmouth (*** flight on Mondays only ***), gateway to the magnificent Ningaloo Reef, also known as the “little barrier reef” for its abundant corals and exotic wildlife. It is a pristine natural haven, remarkably well preserved — a true wonder, still little visited.
Ningaloo Reef, 270 km long, stretches from Exmouth to Coral Bay. It stands out for its extremely fine white sand beaches and its warm-water lagoons — courtesy of the Indian Ocean — crystal clear and turquoise.
You will stay in an eco lodge for 3 nights on a full-board basis.

Activities included: kayaking, snorkelling, wildlife observation, guided hikes. An unforgettable experience….

It is also at Ningaloo Reef that you can have the extraordinary experience of swimming with whale sharks!!!! (April to July only)

PERTH
Return to Perth to enjoy your last evening in the city.

Perth, vibrant and modern, is a very pleasant, lively city on the banks of the Swan River. As the western gateway to Australia, it is a remarkable place. The city of Perth is known for its blue skies, sunny climate, easy-going residents and hospitality. State capital and the most isolated metropolis on the planet, it carries British traditions with a lifestyle that would make Californians and Queenslanders jealous.

In summary:
– 2 nights in Perth at a luxury boutique hotel
– 2 nights in Karijini National Park at a tented eco retreat
– 3 nights in Ningaloo Reef National Park at a luxury tented eco lodge
– 1 night in Perth at a luxury boutique hotel
