SUD LIPEZ AND THE UYUNI SALT FLAT IN BOLIVIA
From San Pedro de Atacama, you will be accompanied to the Chile-Bolivia border crossing.
You will meet your French-speaking Bolivian driver-guide and begin your 4-day journey through southern Bolivia to the spectacular Uyuni salt flat.
Over these 4 days, you will travel by 4×4 between lagoons, salt deserts, small rustic villages and volcanoes.
In addition to crossing the Uyuni salt flat and spending a night there, the itinerary includes a few walks and ascents on volcano slopes:
– Laguna Verde, at the foot of Licancabur volcano: as the wind picks up, the lagoon turns emerald green…
– Laguna Colorada, red in colour, with its pink flamingos.
– The fumaroles of the Sol de Mañana geyser field
– The spectacular Uyuni salt flat, the largest salt desert in the world
– Pescado Island and its giant cacti
– An excursion at the foot of Tunupa volcano
– Sajama National Park and the surrounding villages.
You will spend 4 nights in small, simply furnished lodges with private bathrooms, hot water and supplementary heating. You will enjoy an excellent location at each stage of your journey.
Not forgetting the experience of a night in a salt hotel on the edge of the Uyuni salt flat!
You will cross into Chile via Sajama National Park, reaching the border at the Tambo Quemado crossing.
