Polar bear cubs emerging from their dens

Small international group journey

Country

Canada

Suggested duration

10 days / 9 nights

Ideal periods

Late February - early March

The spirit of the journey

Polar bear cubs emerging from their dens, guided by their mothers as they discover the world, is a remarkable and unforgettable moment. Witnessing such a scene of wildlife, accessible to only a few dozen people each year, is always deeply moving.
Near Wapusk National Park, the largest polar denning region, we offer a unique opportunity in Canada to see cubs with their mothers in their natural state.
The lodge’s guides bring visitors as close as roughly 100 metres from the den entrance. This allows you to understand how a den works, the bears’ habits, and their life cycle.
Even though seeing the cubs is the main purpose of the trip, a highly diverse wildlife is present. You may also spot Arctic foxes, caribou herds, or wolves.

And once night falls, the northern lights will illuminate the sky and your eyes.
Truly remarkable.
