During the transfer, you will weave between the islands of Baffin Island, with polar bears, your hosts for this journey, likely close by.
Days 3-7: At camp
This journey is an opportunity to experience the true essence of the Arctic summer. Your itinerary will be set upon arrival, based on your interests as well as weather conditions and wildlife presence. You may, for example:
– Explore the surrounding islands and walk along the fjords. Chances of spotting bowhead whales and polar bears are high at this time of year
– Pick blackberries and blueberries
– Take an excursion and hike around the Penny Ice Cap glacier
– Observe bowhead whales just 30 minutes by boat from camp
– And take part in many other activities…
You will be accompanied by Inuit guides who know the region intimately, including the best fishing spots and the locations of polar bears and bowhead whales. No one is better suited to guide you throughout your stay than the Inuit themselves.
