Ichumbi, derived from the local Rufumbira dialect, means “a cool and comfortable home”.
The lodge, located just a 10-minute walk from the Rushaga gate of Bwindi National Park, offers a spectacular view of the park from your room. It is designed to provide maximum comfort and relaxation, so you can fully enjoy your gorilla trekking experience and birdwatching amid impressive forest scenery.

Layout

With a 360° view over Bwindi’s impenetrable forest, the main building occupies a prime location.
It has a restaurant and a bar.
A road leads directly to the UWA briefing point at Rushaga Gate in Bwindi National Park.

The cottages are comfortably equipped and offer magnificent views over the impenetrable forest of Bwindi.

Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge is fortunate to be a stone's throw from Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home to the mountain gorillas. It takes only 10 minutes to reach the park.
