The chimpanzee habituation programme is a unique experience that allows you to follow a group of chimpanzees through their daily activities.
Unlike the classic trek, this one-of-a-kind adventure lets you spend an entire day alongside these fascinating primates, accompanied by experienced researchers and rangers who will share information about the excursion and the process of tracking chimpanzees.

From dawn, you'll follow the chimpanzees as they leave their nests, observing their social interactions, play and foraging techniques. You'll learn to recognize their vocalizations and discover their behaviours as the hours go by.

The rangers are highly knowledgeable and can answer any questions you may have about the forest and the chimpanzees.
Be prepared to hike over terrain that can be demanding at times, but every moment spent alongside the chimpanzees is worth the effort.

A few notes:
This activity now mainly allows for longer contact time with the primates.
It begins at 7am and ends in the early afternoon (rather than late in the day, as was the case a few years ago).
