In the romantic and legendary city of Cartagena, Sofitel has revived a convent dating back to 1621. Travel back in time in this imposing colonial building to discover the secrets of a hotel in which every detail has its own story.
This historic building wrapped in mystery dates from the era of the Cloister of the Order of the Poor Clares. Certain historical elements have been preserved: crypts, wells, confessionals, paintings, doors, hidden windows and ceramic objects.
The sublime Presidential Suite pays tribute to Colombian culture. This iconic venue was approved by Colombian artist Fernando Botero, whose daughter, Lina Botero, took charge of the decoration.

Transformed into a high-end hotel by Sofitel in 1995, the former convent of Santa Clara de Asís, built in the 17th century, has come back to life. Our establishment is now one of the most prestigious addresses in the world.
