Seeing great apes

Unforgettable encounters

Seeing gorillas, chimpanzees and other great apes

It's often said - rightly so - that an encounter with a gorilla is an unforgettable moment. Great apes do have this particular trait of reflecting our own image back at us. So close are their behaviour and attitudes to our own.
African great apes can be observed in Uganda, Rwanda or Tanzania for mountain gorillas and chimpanzees, and in Congo for lowland gorillas. As orangutans become increasingly rare, only the regions of Borneo and Sumatra still allow observations that are just as memorable while remaining respectful of these animals, which are in grave danger of extinction.

Here are a few tailor-made trip suggestions for observing great apes across these different countries.

Feel free to contact our specialists for more information and to design your own.
