Afrique du Sud Zimbabwe
11 days / 8 nights
June to end of October
CAPE TOWN
At the other end of the world… in South Africa’s Mother City, set off in search of surprising discoveries in this historic and cultural city, encircled by nature.
On the programme: three days spent in and around Cape Town — the lively Kloof Street, the restored docks of the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, the colourful houses of the Bo-Kaap Malay Quarter, the famous Table Mountain, the superb beaches of Camps Bay, Clifton, Bantry Bay, the Cape of Good Hope peninsula, the penguins of Boulders Beach (or other less frequented, less touristy spots, which we will suggest when the time comes…), Robben Island and the prison where Nelson Mandela was incarcerated… plenty to fill this stay!
3-night stay in Cape Town at a charming guest house (or, depending on your budget, a higher-end hotel).

HERMANUS
After your visit to Cape Town, you will follow the magnificent wild coastline east of the city.
After a 1.5-hour drive, you will reach the small town of Hermanus where, from June to October, dozens of humpback whales come to calve and mate in the calm, sheltered waters of Walker Bay.
Depending on the season, a whale-watching “cruise” is a must! These outings are run aboard small boats, in strict compliance with cetacean observation rules (distance, approach, behaviour in the area…).
You will spend one night in Hermanus at a charming lodge, where — with a bit of luck — you may even spot whales offshore.

WINE ROUTE
A day devoted to exploring the wine route and its beautiful landscapes, with the opportunity to taste renowned South African wines at the wine estates.
We recommend a one-night stay in Franschhoek, at a very fine charming (or luxury) hotel set on a wine estate.
On the programme: the Wine Tram with stops at wine estates for lunch or a tasting, a visit to the Huguenot Museum in Franschhoek, mountain biking through the Boschendal vineyards, a horseback safari, and more.

SABI SAND PRIVATE RESERVE
By the end of this stay in the Cape region, you will certainly be reluctant to leave these magical places, but you will no doubt succumb to the call of the wild in the Kruger Park region.
Flight to the Mpumalanga region and drive to the Sabi Sand private reserve, which borders Kruger Park and is renowned for its abundant wildlife. Sabi Sand is without question the finest private reserve in South Africa. A must-see.
Your days will be punctuated by two safaris a day — one at dawn and the other in the late afternoon — aboard a fully open 4×4 for optimal wildlife viewing. These will be led by experienced, English-speaking rangers and trackers who know the area and animal behaviour perfectly.
You will stay 3 nights at a charming lodge (or, depending on your budget, a higher-end or so-called “luxury” lodge) within the Sabi Sand reserve.

VICTORIA FALLS
You can also extend your journey with an add-on to Victoria Falls.
This way, you will have the chance to see these sheer falls enhanced by the grace of a double rainbow.
