These Networks Whistling Across Our Webs

Lion rugissement

You said it!…

What are all these networks with odd bird-like names that surround us today?
Not a day goes by without our already seasoned ears being subjected to the pressing, insistent intrusion of these strange names, more evocative of a distant country with an unknown language — Rezoland.
An unknown country, certainly, but one that is becoming less so by the day, so exponential is the spread of its aura.
There were already the now-familiar Facebook, Viadeo and LinkedIn. Now we must also reckon with Twitter, as well as Tumblr, Dopplr and the likes of Tripr, Flickr. Grrrrr!

Will we ever see the end of this ever-expanding world?
How can one make a choice, settle on a selection, be satisfied with one’s own judgment, without everything being called into question or resized in an endless cycle of renewal?
One must let oneself be drawn into this vital, indispensable spiral, astonishing in its dynamism.
But faced with such dizzying immediacy, it is necessary to pause, to stop, to settle, to recover a moment of calm in order to quietly think, reflect, and give — or rather find — meaning in this agitation.
And so secure, on the web, the most visible and legible presence among the people who matter most!
