Where to travel during the Covid-19 crisis

Where to travel during the Covid-19 crisis

Where to travel from France (as of 1 March 2022)

Here is a non-exhaustive summary of the conditions for leaving France, entering the countries offered by Etendues Sauvages, and returning to France.
This information applies to French nationals residing in mainland France and may also vary depending on your place of residence and/or departure.

This document is provided for information purposes only; only the information provided by the authorities of each country concerned should be taken into consideration. For official information, we invite you to consult the following government websites:

– Quai d’Orsay, Travel Advice
– Ministry of the Interior
– French Government, Coronavirus Information Page

The dedicated site developed and updated by Air France is also very well designed and offers reliable information.

DEPARTURE AND RETURN CONDITIONS

Since 18/07/2021, fully vaccinated individuals no longer need a compelling reason to travel to or return from a country classified green, orange or red. This applies to departures from mainland France. Entry and exit conditions for the various destination countries continue to apply according to their own rules.

Since 12/02/2022, it is no longer necessary to take a PCR or antigen test before returning to France from a country outside the European Union.

WHEN IS SOMEONE CONSIDERED “VACCINATED”

Only vaccines approved by France and the EMA (European Medicines Agency) are currently accepted: Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson.
Proof of vaccination must be registered on the “Tous Anti Covid” app. It is only valid if it certifies a complete vaccination schedule:
– 8 days after the 2nd injection for double-dose vaccines (Pfizer, Moderna and AstraZeneca)
– 4 weeks after the injection for single-dose vaccines (Johnson & Johnson)
– 2 weeks after the injection for people who have previously had Covid-19 (only 1 injection required)

In most cases, countries requiring full vaccination for entry also require a booster dose (often called a “boost”) to have been administered. The time frame for this booster varies by country. It is therefore important to have a complete vaccination schedule and to check that it meets the requirements of the countries being visited.

COVID-19 – COUNTRY ENTRY CONDITIONS

Please refer to the information provided in the “Information” tab of your proposal or travel booklet, under the “Health” section for each country visited. There you will find entry and exit conditions.
We also ask that you verify, several days before departure, the accuracy of this information by consulting the Quai d’Orsay website.

A temperature check may be carried out at all arrival airports.

Important:
Even when the host country only requires proof of full vaccination, we recommend taking a PCR test within 72 hours before departure. Tests taken from France must be carried out by ALL participants, regardless of age.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

Regardless of the entry and stay rules in the destination country, it is essential to take out travel insurance that fully covers Covid-19 risks (medical expenses, hospitalisation, repatriation, etc.). An increasing number of countries require it.
The policies offered by our two partners, Assurever and Assur Travel, include most of the guarantees required by these countries.

FIND OUT MORE

If you have questions about how the measures regarding entry into and stay in France are applied, you can call the toll-free number: 0800 130 000.
Even though the quality and update frequency of this information could be improved, we recommend reviewing it in full on the Quai d’Orsay website.

Finally, please note that regardless of the country and entry conditions, any suspicion of Covid-19 on board the aircraft or upon arrival will result in a test on arrival and quarantine imposed by local authorities.
We also remind you that it is your responsibility to carry out the required tests within the required time frame, and that failure to present results, or a positive result, cannot engage the liability of Etendues Sauvages.
