Africa in their blood

The Stuart family has Africa in their blood.
Andrew Stuart’s great-grandfather, the current owner of Bushtops Camps, was none other than Charles Cottar. A name well known in Kenya for creating one of the first safari companies exactly a century ago, before guiding Martin and Osa Johnson (history’s first wildlife filmmakers) from 1922, then Paul Hoeffler in 1928 to produce the first African wildlife documentaries in colour.
For many years, this family’s commitment to wildlife and environmental protection through various foundations has never wavered.
Roving, the company’s latest creation, initiated by Andrew and his wife Claudia, fits squarely within this drive to promote tourism that respects the environment and benefits local communities.

It’s beautiful, intimate, ephemeral, with minimal impact on the ground. Very appealing.
Watching this lovely film is like being lulled by the atmosphere of the Serengeti.

At the heart of the Serengeti, Roving Bushtops

There are magnificent high-end lodges and tented camps in the Serengeti. But they’re fixed.
There’s also the option of staying in very intimate mobile camps, though these usually don’t offer the same level of comfort and service.

Roving Bushtops offers the best of both worlds: the ability to move across the entire Serengeti following the movements of the wildlife, combined with remarkable comfort.
In the southern Serengeti in February/March, the camp gradually moves north with the annual wildebeest migration.

Combined with other outstanding properties such as Chem-Chem (towards Tarangire and Manyara national parks) or The Highlands (towards the Ngorongoro Crater), this ensures a safari in Africa unlike any other.
