Five centuries of history

Tailor-made trip to Mexico

Mexico is a country brimming with pre-Columbian archaeological remains. One cannot remain unmoved by so many archaeological and ethnological wonders.

Its people, fun-loving and smiling, fond of festivities, music and colour, have left behind a rich history and a magnificent cultural heritage.
During your trip to Mexico, you will encounter Maya civilization and colonial cities in the green, mountainous valley of Chiapas. You will take a more cultural trip to Mexico City to listen to Mariachis on café terraces. On the beach side, you will relax in a charming small hotel, under the Yucatan sun. This “pearl of the Caribbean”, once a refuge for pirates, is an ideal place for combining culture and beach.

A land of culture, idyllic beaches, but also a land of nature.

The Sierra Madre is home to a series of volcanoes offering magnificent panoramas, such as Pico de Orizaba or Popocatépetl, which towers 5,426 metres over the southeastern region of Mexico City and watches over Iztaccihuatl, covered in eternal snow.
Don't miss the landscapes of the Sierra Tarahumara. Travel through the Barranca Del Cobre, its dozens of vertiginous canyons carved by the Rio Fuerte and its tributaries. Discover it aboard El Chepe, the legendary train linking Los Mochis to Chihuahua.
As for Baja California, it adds another dimension to your trip. It is without doubt the best spot in the world to observe grey whales, under very strict rules. A nature-respecting tourism, just as we like it.

One trip to Mexico certainly won't be enough.
But every journey has to start somewhere!

Your questions / Our answers

Is it worth combining Mexico and Cuba?

Yes, definitely — and we’d favour Cuba for its cultural appeal rather than its beaches. For beaches, Mexico is unquestionably where you’ll be rewarded. If time is limited, consider combining a few days in Havana with a lodge in Tulum. Flights are direct, and Cuba lies just 200 km from the Mexican Caribbean, a short hop by air. A sharply contrasting Caribbean duo!

What do you recommend for traveling with children in Mexico?

Unquestionably, experiences! And we have no shortage of ideas to tailor them to your wishes: watching a lucha libre match, flying over the Teotihuacan site by hot-air balloon, diving into the crystal-clear Caribbean waters or the cenotes, sleeping in a hacienda, floating in the crystal-clear waters of a river and drifting with the current between mangroves and epiphytic plants while listening to birdsong, devouring a few tasty tacos with your fingers, cycling along the trails of the San Kahn reserve, listening to howler monkeys, taking part in a Mayan ceremony…

Is it dangerous to travel in Mexico?

A large part of Mexico is easily explored with a rental vehicle. Whether it’s the Yucatan, Baja California, the colonial north, the Oaxaca valley or Chiapas, the “self-drive” format suits travelers who value freedom and want to adapt their daily pace to the moment. Some regions remain dangerous, however, and are not recommended. They are not included in the itineraries we offer.

Are there fine hotels in Mexico, and can we avoid large resort complexes?

We carefully select accommodations — former colonial residences, hennequen haciendas or distinguished houses — that reveal the history of those who built them. Mexico has a remarkably fine hotel infrastructure.

Where to travel as a family with children and teenagers in Latin America?

If we had to pick three, it would be Costa Rica, Mexico and Peru.
Costa Rica, because it’s a small country of nature best explored freely, with a rental car. It offers a genuine playground suited to a host of sporting and fun activities. Each day is punctuated by sightings of turtles, whales, noisy tropical wildlife, volcanoes, bubbling hot springs. We love it!
Mexico, and the Yucatan in particular, because it lets you combine culture, nature and beach without covering long distances, with a rental car.
Peru, because it guarantees a trip punctuated by cultural and sporting activities. And walking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu will stay etched in your memory forever.
